Description Share Post Hupo and the Wonder Thief Billy Partridge (Flying Eye Books) Hupo’s mind is full of the advice offered in The Adventures of the Great Humdingo. In fact, he’s borrowed this book ‘seven hundred and sixty-three times’ from the library. It seems Hupo’s unbothered that nobody else within Yorger is inspired like him. In fact, he doesn’t seem to notice the clanking tools, booming engines and smoking engines. It seems as though the town is the ‘loudest place in all of Yip‘. However, Hupo’s oblivious, until a thick fog obscures everything. What is happening? Could it be that we’re joining Hupo and the Wonder Thief? It seems that Hupo’s the target of…. ‘the Dark One‘. Can our hero step up through following the Great Humdingo’s advice?. It seems he knows these by heart. Thereafter, ‘Never ever, whatever the weather, be anything but yourself‘. However, is it possible when you’re being sought by a dark fog? When your sausage-like best friend has been seized? What’s more, when the place in which you live has disappeared? Billy Partridge offers a futuristic and glorious graphic novel. Not only is this a ‘book’, presented in such a permanent and accessible format, but then it’s a story of discovery too. We love the pink hued tones, the way we are compelled by Hupo’s growing courage. What’s more we love the commentary; his monologue that outlines his travels and discoveries. Then again, our hero has been knocked back by others in Yorger. Isn’t he the only one to still hold hope in his heart? There’s something Oz- like in this notion. Like Juniper Mae: Knight of Tykotech City, for example, Hupo and the Wonder Thief is a graphic novel of adventure, daring, courage and self discovery. Bookwagon is delighted to welcome this title aboard!
