Description The Once-A-Day® Bowie & Dick Test Pak™ is a pre-assembled, disposable Bowie-Dick test pack. It features a traditional white-to-black color change. Specifically, you use it to ensure adequate air removal in dynamic air removal steam sterilizers. The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) recommends using Bowie & Dick Tests to qualify sterilizer performance. Perform these tests when you first install a sterilizer, whenever you move it, and after a major repair. This requires three consecutive test cycles with passing results. You typically use Bowie-Dick Tests each day the sterilizer operates, though only one passing test cycle is required for routine monitoring. Bowie & Dick test packs provide a challenge for pre-vacuum sterilizers (270°F-276°F) at the start of each day, or after routine or other maintenance. Place the test pack in an otherwise empty sterilizer, positioning it carefully near the drain. The Once-A-Day® Test-Pak™ includes a series of air removal and steam penetration barriers, with a chemical indicator centrally placed in each pack. Additionally, a Steam-Dot™ Process Indicator on the outermost barrier (box) quickly differentiates processed from unprocessed packs. You can use this pack to detect low temperature/pressure, wet, and superheated steam. The Once-A-Day® Test-Pak™ Bowie & Dick Test Pack complies with AAMI / ISO 11140-1:2010, Type 2 and AAMI / ISO 11140-5:2007 standards.
